Alright folks.....have a question that I KNOW can be answered by one of the awesome folks here on Scubaboard.com
Bought an older U.S. Divers rag assembly at a garage sale for dirt cheap.....$40. Attached to the assembly is a U.S. Divers Scan 4 computer. After putting a new battery in, the pooter seems fine. HOWEVER.....on the back of the computer is a clear cap that screws down over a thin black silicone gasket. Im assuming that this gasket covers a sensor for depth pressure. Here's there deal....the little black gasket has a small tear in it. Called Aqualung and they are about as clueless as I am. Is this a piece that I can have replaced?? If, (and probably not), I cant......here is what Im proposing and what everyone to tell me whether or not Im nuts. I want to cut out a piece of something....say a portion of a latex surgical glove.....put over the gasket, then screw the cap back on over the latex. This would (I hope) provide a tight seal, but is flexible enough that the pressure sensor would still work. Comments....let them flow.
