Taken today, they were common at all depths(up to 60') of the jetties in Destin, FL. Water temp on the surface was 80F and at depth it was low 70s, possibly still in the high 60sF.
One I've seen before(1st Pic), I think its a type of snapper, but I'm not sure. They were 6-10" long and schooled together for the most part.
The other(thumbnail) is only ~3" across, swam along by itself, and swam around us quite a bit. No idea what it is, never seen one here before... Crummy pic, sorry.
