I've noticed that a thread doesn't get marked read if:
I read the new post via the URL in the e-mail I got notifying
me of the new post.
or
The new post was mine, posted the Quick-Reply feature. It
does get displayed after I hit submit. The full-blown reply
feature may have the same bug -- I never use it.
