In what amounts to an admission of how terribly the TSA blows, they announced yesterday that they're cutting us a small break in the renewal of our TWIC.

You can renew for three years for 60 bucks and only have to make a single trip to their encampment. There are strings, but nothing serious. Your TWIC must be valid, not expired or revoked. You must be a US Citizen. And your expiration must be prior to Dec. 31 2014.
Not sure if this is good news (they didn't abolish this crazy waste) but it's at least something.
