Hi all.

I'm just wondering if anyone has used/tried and would like to comment on the Selene Wing (the back inflate one, not the jacket one). I will be getting a new BCD in the next month or so and have had my eye on the Zena. Someone pointed the selene wing out to me and I'm just looking for some 'reviews' on it.

Things like how adjustable/comfortable it is. If it's too excessive or minimal (I'm quite small, the problem I usually find is way too much bulk/pockets etc). Easy to pack? General impressions etc.

Thanks in advance for your time!!

Hi JessiLynne. I had the opportunity to spend a good deal of time looking at the Selene Wing. While I don't have any customers who have actually dove the unit (after all, it is just now shipping to stores), I have to say it is one VERY nice looking BC. The sample I saw was an XS and it was REALLY small. I think this is going to be a hit with the women. Don't buy anything until the Selene Wing is available.

Thanks so much for your reply!

I'm very glad to hear that this BC is looking good. Hopefully Ill be able to try it in a few weeks. I certainly like the sound of it.

All the best!

I just purchased the selene wing..have dove the tusa selene jacket style for a couple of yrs and loved it.
My chief complaint with the Wing? Why oh why did they do away with the metal d-rings and replace them with smaller plastic d-rings? I dive principally cold water and find it difficult to clip/unclip things from these smaller plastic rings. Yes guys..woman like clips too! But ones that are accessible without struggle with 3mm gloves on-these smaller plastic ones are a chore!
If I could make any suggestion to Tusa it would be to return to the metal d-rings.
That said, I am enjoying this bcd and would recommend it to anyone considering a ladies back flotation. I am very impressed with the lumbar support, love the fact that it has dual tank straps and I don't get a tank roll feeling diving a steel 80 anymore. My hubby is so impressed with it, he is considering the male version to this..I must investigate the plastic d-ring thing first though..he would struggle more than I do since his hands are larger.

I am aware I can "change them out" but..honestly? I actually thought the d-rings would be the same. As far as weight goes for travel..the wing is about the same weight as my selene jacket bcd..I can't believe that 6 d-rings are going to make that much difference in weight. Consider myself lazy..its a brand new bcd.. I could deal with plastic but they are considerably smaller than I expected. I would rather give feedback for consideration/alteration for the improvement of this model. The bcd itself is exactly what I wanted in a back flotation -adjustable shoulders, great lumbar support, no excessive pockets with the Tusa name behind it. I would recommend if possible to try it on. I actually ordered it from my LDS sight unseen ( didn't have one in stock yet)

I think it's a very nicely designed BC. I've never used anything but a back inflated one and currently use a Riptide Grace... wich I love. I want to find something even light and more packable so might eventually wind up going to a BP/W unless I can find something that peaks my interest at DEMA.
