OK - I bought a TUSA IQ 700 computer. Thus far, I am very pleased.

I just looked into the download cable & Scubatoys wants $120. OK - I know it says scuba to the price is stupid to start with but from the picture it looks like its just two contacts on the computer and USB at the other end. It looks like about $5-10 for parts. The software is free from TUSA.

Is anyone out there able to provide a DIY cable solution?

post it or email me.

Andrew

Andrew: There were a number of threads regarding the Apex Quantum / Dive Rite Duo (same computer as your 700) a while back. One included specs and diagrams from what I recall. I don't have it bookmarked, but you may be able to find it by searching this forum.

Good luck

Bjorn

I looked into a DIY solution without success after I got my IQ-700 (awesome computer.) If you find a solution, please PM me!

As an alternative to a cable, if you decide to purchase one, consider one of those data recorders (someone, what are those things called?). They are about the same price and can be used regardless of the computer you are using.

Daniel,

Looks great! Seems pretty tricky so I will order one from you after my funds are replenished after the holidays :) Bookmarking your page now!

Checked divecable.com today after stumbling across this thread. I'd really like to have a third-party solution for extracting data from my IQ-700 so I can throw away PCLogbook forever.

But, on the website, assembled cables are out of stock and Windows, Mac, and Linux software are all "Coming soon".

Any chance of getting anything that works with my dive computer?
