After more years than I am willing to admit to, I finally bought a new regulator, turret type and am having trouble figuring out how to route the hoses. I tried it with the tank turned around and the turret pointed down but was concerned about having difficulty reaching my primary or octo in an emergency. With the turret again pointed down and the tank with the valve outlet pointed at the divers back (normal position) I found the primary hose was sticking out a bit where it could catch on stuff and underarm was binding. I don't want to spend more money for a shorter hose that may be binding even with the swivel. There are a few threads floating about on this but I really don't want to go back to my old 1st stage which worked fine for a long time and add the new 2nd stage. Kind of defeats the purpose don't you think? A second question is when is the industry going to come up with better designed hose management system so we don't all look like a Borg or some other alien? Maybe one high pressure and one low pressure hose from the back under the arm to a manifold on the divers chest where you could attach all them goodies without getting caught in wrecks and swim throughs.

hrrm... What turret reg are you using?
Singles I assume?
I don't look like the borg, but I don't use standard hose lengths either.
Never been caught on anything... If you're looking at the back plate of bc with valve outlet facing you. Turret cocked at a 30 ish degree angle, 5th port on bottom with long hose going down. If using recreational hoses with octo clipped off and not on a suicide strap then octo hose goes out the bottom. Other regulator hose comes out the side and the LPI hose and SPG hose come out the other side and route down
