Tunicate at Blue Heron Bridge?

Hi - saw this diving at Blue Heron Bridge in about 15 ft of water. What is that thing above the eel - a tunicate? It was about an inch around and I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture. Thanks.

I've uploaded two more pics - out of focus and unedited except for cropping. Also, it looks like there is another one of these things to the right of the big one. The full size pics are in my gallery if anyone wants to look closer. Any ideas?

No guesses from anyone here? In the BHB thread, CoolTech thought it might be a baby octopus hiding in a PVC pipe. I'm not sure that the cylinder is a PVC pipe, but I agree that the thing inside could be an octopus.

I think you are right. I saw more of them at Blue Heron Bridge recently.

Agree with retracted tube worms ID. Maybe some of the regulars at BHB have seen them out and/or have pics. Especially the ones that night dive there.
