I'll be in Tulum in November & looking to do some reef diving. (Yes, I know about Cozumel and cenotes).

Anyone have experience with La Calypso or Mexidivers? We'll be at the Hotel El Pez, so looks like Mexidivers is only steps away.

Thanks!

We used La Calypso when diving in the cenotes (no reef diving though!). We stayed at Maison Tulum, just a block away from La Calypso. Maison Tulum is a small hotel, bit old but the room is big and comfy. Their pastry is pretty good.

About La Calypso, their dive master/guides are amazing. Julio was attentive, very informative, relax, and calm, while Bebe was strict but funny. Both are cave certified divers and putting safety at first.

I suggest staying at hotels that nearby to the dive center. From what I heard, the taxi drivers in Tulum were not happy when dive centers pick up their guests from the hotel.

In case you will include cenote diving as well, here is my dive experience in El Pit with La Calypso - will post more stories, we were diving in six cenotes.

Under the Jungle is not too far away. Natalie aka Mighty Mouse is worth the extra drive time.
