Wasn't expecting to be first here on the West Coast, but hopefully other folks survived the holiday weekend BBQs and festivities. Down 2.5# for the week and starting to be able to keep up a jogging/running pace for a decent amount of time on the treadmill again (as opposed to a fast walk).

Well...the weekend in Dallas was great fun but hell on the scales! I'm up .4 but I'll take it....it could have been so much worse, considering.

Vowed to post on-time this week and I'm 3rd!! Down 0.5# this week, currently at 194. Now that the kids are back to school (yea!) I'm hoping to get back into some sort of exercise groove.

Survived the long weekend with no gain no loss, no dives :(

Okay, I am down two to 172lbs. If we had posted over the weekend I could have reported a greater loss but as it is I crept up a couple of pounds with the lazy days!!! Still on target though!

Well I'm totally confused about my weight right now. This morning the scale indicated 275 for a one pound gain.

Now during the day I usually show a 2-3 pound gain before dinner. Well today I showed a one pound loss even though I ate pretty much the same way I usually do for breakfast and lunch.

So to make myself feel better, I'm going to say I lost one pound for the week. I'm down to 273lbs

Greg

PS I'm still a little confused

Well, this is my first post here since joining, but I'm down #2! I had forgotton how much work this is! Good job everyone, keep going!

Greg....step away from the scales! You'll drive yourself nuts weighing several times a day. I can sometimes have a shift of 5# during the course of the day. Even weighing every day can be deceptive over the week. So I suggest you only weigh maybe twice a week....on Fridays to get a general feel for how you're doing and then on Tuesdays for your regular weight in. And always do it at the same time of day.

Stick to your weight loss plan regardless of what the scale says. If you show a loss, some folks have a tendancy to think "hey, I'm doing great so I'll have that extra ______." or if you're showing a small gain, the tendancy is "Well, I've already blown it today so I may as well have what I want. I'll start over tomorrow." Both of these scenarios will seriously cripple your efforts.

Go slow, go steady, pay attention to what your body is telling you and STEP AWAY FROM THOSE SCALES!

Weigh every morning after your first bathroom trip, before you eat or drink anything. Do this and you'll easily see patterns. Don't stress and weight multiple times a day, even though you think you may lose a pound or two before dinner ;)
