Hey Tim.. were you on the boat with Ken from Ultimate Travel? He is here now... was on the boat a few weeks back, same week as Gutsy....??

Don't think there was a Ken on the boat. Must have been earlier.. did he see much? :p

Overall impression was that diving is good but not great. Full moon + winds mean poor vis. Some of the other return divers said that fish life and the reef was a lot better a few years ago. Eco Explorer is a BIG boat so it is fairly comfortable. Food was fine and the divemasters were fairly knowledgeable. Because it is such a large boat, it cannot moor on the moorlines. So hats off to the crew for maintaining the position of the ship day and night. Will recommend them with no reservation at this stage, though will probably go for a smaller boat next time. 33 divers IS A LOT.

nice trip report & great pixs. thanks for sharing.
probably we did “crossed paths” somewhere in the middle of the ocean. i was on Tristar from 10-16 Apr...same trip, different boat. it is a very comfortable & stable boat, with lot of space for gearing up, lazing around during surface interval & even partying at nite. never at any times felt too crowded with 20+ divers. the co-owners geggy & keith are very sociable & very knowledgeable, great company. the crew are such hardworking & helpful bunch & always smiling. in spite of the so-so diving due to weather conditions or perhaps god's will, i definitely had a fabulous time on-board. highly recommended Tristar for any LOB...as a matter of fact, planning my next trip to apo reef this nov on it….just gotta check out the "REAL" apo reef with the pros :D

Well if you ever decide to head down to Anilao for a long weekend, give me a ring and might join you from HK. Would be good to go with a fellow photographer...
