Has anyone been able to travel by air with a 100+ Wh Milwaukee battery + adapter + DeWalt Transport Safety Cap? This combination should split up the cells of a Milwaukee battery to groups with <100 Wh and hence make it TSA compliant.

The Dewalt battery cap is not a "safety cap" It is a circuit interuptor that breaks electrical contacts inside the battery. That is why you can't just put a cap on the Milwaukee battery and call it good. It is still one giant battery all interconnected inside. DeWalt is 3 separate battery packs (inside one shell) with the batty cap installed.
 
more importantly just because a battery has been "split" doesn't make it UN38.3 compliant and doesn't mean that the battery has been certified to fly. Those are two VERY different things.

Is then possible to air travel with DPVs based on power tool batteries?
