My son and I just got hoseless computers as back ups for a liveaboard trip in April. Previous trips we packed everything in our gear bags except computers and cameras. Now with the transmitters installed on our regs I'm uncomfortable about leaving them out of touch. In the past I've heard of people being singled out for a more than routine search when carrying regs with them.
Anyone have any recent experience in light of the new security procedures?

Thanks

We always carry on our regulators and going through security days after the newest changes they only wanted to manually check the reg bag and swab it for bombs here in CT (Bradley) and in Key West they didn't even give them a second look. We don't have AI computers but I doubt it would make any difference

I fly with my regs, can light and other assorted things in my carry on. Aside from the TSA wanting to take another look I've had no issues.

I often bring rebreathers, computers and underwater camera gear as carry-on and have seldom had a problem. I always say scuba gear now. The first time I said rebreather I ended up giving a lesson in RB technology to a couple of TSA staff. Luckily I was in a big hurry. Usually no issues though.

Never a problem.

No problems for me, either.

I carry-on regs/computers everywhere - since 2001 or so. Never an issue. Once or twice I get asked "are you a diver"? but I think that's more out of interest than anything else.

Thanks to everyone so far! Glad to hear no nightmares...:)

I pack my entire kit in a Dive Caddy, and I've had no problems with TSA.
The only problem I've ever had with them was flying 2 days after I'd had a nuclear scan. I forgot I was still radioactive, and I triggered a sniffer. No huge problem, since I had all the paperwork showing why I was emitting gamma radiation.

I've never had any problems with regs, computers, and camera equipment in my carry on. The one time I brought weights, they swabbed the carry on case.
