I'm having trouble getting an IR connection with the dive computer (an Uwatec Smart Pro) on my MacBookPro. I consistently just get a pop-up with "Connection Failed" when using JTrack

I know the IR port is working because the apple remote works properly.

The SmartTrak user guide does not provide any troubleshooting steps for setting up the IR connection. Is there another document I can get that can help diagnose the issue? Since I bought this computer second-hand from the dive shop I can't contact the previous owner to see how this worked

Thanks in advance.

I have a Luna and have the same problems. I have to position the Luna to almost touch the IR dongle to get it to connect. Try moving the dive computer around the IR receiver. You'll hear a funny noise when the connection is made.

Thanks for the tip. Does the dive computer need to be in any particular "mode" for it to connect? i.e. do I have to put it in logbook or some other screen or should it connect regardless?

Holding the IR reader close to the blue oval IR port on the Smart Pro is the best way to achieve the connection. One way to cross-check the IR port on the dive computer is to use another IR port dive computer and see if that can be connected.
