with a tropical weight beanie........put your mask on underneath, or on the outside of the beanie?

Either way works.

I put the mask on last for a couple of mundane reasons ....
the beanie helps to keep from sunburning my big bald spot, so it goes on early in the gearing up process, and
even a 3mm beanie seems to add a bit more elasticity to the mask so that it seems to seal better on top of the beanie than beneath.

The main benefit of having the beanie over the mask is that it will retain the mask if for some reason your mask gets dislodged.

OK. Now that we've solved this issue, let's move on to the really important issues such as

wetsuit legs inside the boot or over the outside. :D

I wear my beanie under my mask. Keeps the mask strap from pulling out what remaining hair I have.
