You’ll be cruising to Malpelo against current. It took us 35 hours to cruise outbound & 26 hours inbound.
The boat doesn’t have stabilizer. So it’ll be rocking side to side in windy weather. If you have a weak tummy, get motion sickness pill or patch.

That would be 6 days of diving like mine then as 5/31, 6/1, 6/8 & 6/9 would be for traveling.
Malpelo is about 500 kilometers (270 nautical miles) from Buenaventura in Colombia Westcoast. From my calculation the outbound speed of Ferox was about 7.7 knots (against current) and the inbound speed was 10.4 knots (with current).

The CDA bus will leave from Cali IHG hotel to Buenaventura around 1PM and return to the hotel around 11AM.
I would recommend to fly into Cali a day or two before and to fly out of Cali a day after.

That's the plan. Hotel the nights before and after and transfers from and to the airport are included.

CLO-IHG taxi is around $20.
Uber is also available if you want to go to town. I paid 20 COP ($5) for Uber ride from IHG to Cristo Rey.

Taking a slack day on 19 Jan is really good idea. I did the same in the last 3 trips to Malpelo. If you have never been to Cali before, you can do a day trip around Cali like what I did, as shown in this video:

I used Uber for 20-minute ride to the top of the hill for $5.
