Met up with PolarbearBen, I miss H20, cdoctor, and Paul (not a SB member) at 5:30 AM and headed up to Ginnie springs. Arrived at the gates right at opening time and most of us had pre-printed and filled out releases. After admitting to the staff that they were all there for the first time my 4 buddies got to watch the obligatory store video, then we were off to start our dives.

After suiting up and walking past Limar Hires on our way to the water, we Took a look at the open water portion of little devil, swam down the run and checked out the open water portion of the eye - where all had their picture's taken with the reaper sign. After that we swam over to the ear and experienced the heavy flow coming upand out of the opening. We took a little breather there, then drift dived down the river to the Ballroom. The river water was a little tanic but vis was ok. Lots of turtles, fish, and a gar that decided to play chicken with me (he flinched and turned at the last moment).

At the ballroom with plenty of air, we decided to do a quick dive before changing out tanks. Everybody seemed to have a great time and I think Ben had such a great time that we may see him cross over to the dark side soon. Second dive in the Ballroom was uneventful except for the 3 divers floundering around on the bottom acting like the keystone cops, but mostly just poofing things up. After the dive a few of us wondered if the 3rd of those guys was even certified (he looked that bad).

Pics are below, Hope to do this again soon, maybe get some cavern in once Ben crosses over. :D

Dave you never get my good side.

Yes - I am a fan of the Dark Side and the pull is irresistible. Mentally I am there but need to convince the wallet to be there as well.

Thanks for the summary and the Pics, they came out really good. Let's do this again sometime soon, I really had a good time. See ya around.

hmm, people not certified, going inside a cavern--sounds like a great combination :shakehead:

They looked 16 years old, inexperienced, and were flailing around trying to do frontward and backward summersaults. Which is stupid in Ginnie Spring cavern because some places do not have a lot of clearance. Well one of the cowboys found this out when he hit the back of his head on rock while doing his genius maneuvers. I thought he might have knock himself out or knock some sense into him - but no. We just backed into the corners and watched them make asses of themselves. Then they left after 5 minutes of hot-dogging.

they weren't paying attention when "safe somersaulting" was taught in OW
