This is just a quick report from a trip last week to St.Vincent and Grenadines. It was mostly a sailing trip but we did manage to do 4 dives in a week. We had 6 complete sets of equipment and 8 divers. We rented 10 tanks (8 would've been enough in retrospect) and weights in Blue Lagoon on St.Vincent where we chartered the boat from Barefoot Charters. Here's where we went and general experiences.

Dive 1: Mustique Island - this was just a training dive for everyone to get acclimated, weighed and generally to figure out good groups (we did two groups of 4 people). We also needed to figure out whether dinghy will be big enough. Nothing to see underwater really. Just figuring out logistics.

Dive 2: Horseshoe reef on Tobago Keys - this is a Marine Park so we had to take an operator in order to dive. We went with Scuba Grenadines from Union Island and they picked us up from the boat and took us to the dive. This was the only time when all 8 of us went under. The dive is up to 60 feet but the reef is not spectacular by any means. It was mostly fun because we were all doing it together. Good news is that if you have your own equipment (they just provide tank) the price is a very reasonable $35.

Dive 3: Bequia - There are two shops there that fight for clientele. $6 to fill a tank. There's diving that's north of the marina and not accessible by dinghy but they wanted $66 per person even if they had their own equipment. They said that there's also diving closer by and we decided to do that. With a dinghy we went out of marina, around the corner and up few hundred feet to see nice cliffs with waves crashing into them. The diving here was actually already better than the Horseshoe reef. Deep down to 40 feet. Very nice colors and small fish.

Dive 4: Walliabou on St.Vincent - this is where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbeans. Very nice place easily accessible by dinghy from the marina. No dinghy mooring so someone needs to stay on it (like in Bequia). We saw Langustas and fish up to 3 feet long. Depth down to 40 feet. Best dive out of all four.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
