Just returned from Playa and had a great time. We hardly noticed any ill effects from Wilma. The town is at least 90% recovered. The vegetation is little less lush, and there are quite a few trees knocked over, but other than that it looked the same to me (I was there just before the hurricane as well).
I only dove two days, but enjoyed them both. The first day I went to the Chac Mool cenote with Tank Ha dive center. It was my first Cenote experience and I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I would do it again, but I'm glad I did it once. It was really neat to see, especially to see the way the light comes down into the cavern, but after a while it started to look all the same. The guide from Tank Ha (Steve) was really good. He struck me as a bit of a cave diving nut, and he did a good job explaining the procedures and briefing the dive so that I felt comfortable with it.
The second day I dove with an outfit right next to my hotel called Cyan Ha. We went to the Tortugas (spanish for turtle) and Baracuda reefs, both of which were really enjoyable. We probably saw 15 turtles at Tortugas. Very cool. The DM at Cyan Ha (Anna) was really good too. She was very diligent about keeping a troublesome diver off the reef and moving along, which I appreciate.

I would definately dive with either shop again.
