Excellent trip on the Peace to Pt. Conception and thank you to Pat Smith & Jonathan Hanks for helping Channel Islands Dive Adventures in pulling it off and a BIG thank you to Mother Nature, if not for her we wouldn't have made it!!! CIDA had been thinking about this trip for the past 2 years and it was a big success. This was even something new for the Peace and her crew and it looks like there will be more CIDA trips like this in the future! There's still many more places to check out and explore down the coast south of Ventura. CIDA has run many trips down the coast but for those of you that like deeper dives there is still plenty to do on reefs and pinnacles not many have seen before!

The topside weather was awesome (just not much sun) with a calm ride even up to Pt. Conception where we turned around after diving a shallow reef. Underwater the conditions weren't the best...green with about 15' ft. vis and some current but then this was a trip for hardy divers to see something different.

The SM1 is an awesome dive and where you once had to penetrate it to see inside now you don't as the side plates and hull are rusting off leaving windows along the entire length of the wreck where you can actually see through it now. It also has a huge fish population all around it and especially in the debris field were there are lots of lings, cabezon and large sheephead call home!

The Gosford is still a beautiful shallow wreck with tons of life on it and with some monkey face eels calling it home. You can easily lose track of time exploring all she has to offer! As for the reefs, they were all full of life and nothing like most people expected. I think from what I heard, most everyone had an awesome time.

We dove the SM1, Gosford, unnamed reef at Pt. Conception, Naples Reef and the Miss Julie. We searched for a few things that didn't quite pan out but then that's all part of the ADVENTURE!!! For those of you looking for something different check out the CIDA schedule for some other trips that are not the norm-"We strive for different diving"
