Trip Report - Nekton to Cay Sal Bank, Bahamas

a couple of comments also - if you love to dive, do a liveaboard!
if you love meeting people and chatting about diving, do a liveaboard!
if you get bored on a regular vacation and wish you could dive more, do a liveaboard!
if you want to see big stuff (sharks) and little stuff (seahorses) try Cal Sal Bank on the Nekton!
if you want to do a liveaboard but think they are too expensive, do one and then figure out the cost of the trip per dive, it is really cheaper than you think overall!
that all said, we had a blast on the Nekton and will do it again, possibly every year!

Great trip report, drift dive sounds like a blast. Look forward to trying this trip out.

thanks guys! The trip was an absolute blast. We are getting together a group of friends to do it again next summer. I highly recommend this for divers with a bit of experience as many of the dives are deep or have current to navigate.

Yes, the drift dive was wild to say the least! very cool! And the shark feed was an adrenaline rush.... the hardest part was trying to do a safety stop afterwards since the shark were so jazzed up. They kept swimming around between us at 15'.

We did have one mishap on the trip - a diver dropped a tank on his toe on day 3 and lost a toenail and the rest of his dives for the trip. He was fine and just sat in the salon and watched movies for the rest of the week. I would have been going nuts but he took it pretty well. We offered to take his fin out and tie it to the chain during the "shark feed" so when he went home he would have a better story to tell. LOL
