If i owned a decent mid range lens I would have used it on some of the dives
My 3-4 years searches proved me there were no bread & butter midrange lens available for UW photography, 10-17 is the closest you can have but it's always a trade off. (although some say the 17-70 Sigma macro can be a challenger for all around shots).

I'm using the Canon 17-40L as a mid range lens (I am on full frame) but each time I regret not fitting my 15 fisheye, moreover on the macro aspects, it's completely useless.

Thanks, Al but it was Magrone's report here, but glad to hear a fellow diver getting to go to RA.

Boo Island was definitely one of, if not the favorite site for me. We also arrived to tremendous rain, which then tapered off and we had awesome diving. Saw schools and schools of fish, along with multiple mantas, including a huge one and mobulars too. Got great video of a couple amazing octopus changing textures and colors, then just stayed motionless to let a school of about 15 big bumphead parrot fish graze on the reef an arms length away. And huge spadefish. And...and....and...
