They told me the rubber chicken actually is a rubber goose and, if you look at it, it certainly is.

But it seems to be an inside joke among the crew because no one would explain it to me.

The crew was the best I've seen in more than 50 liveaboard trips over many decades.

The boat certainly isn't the best but definitely far above average (it's a former Peter Hughes Something-Dancer).

The shore excursions were great.

The diving, sadly, was quite average. Got lots of good pics but all little stuff. Never heard the word "Wow!" at all at the end of a dive.

Great diving with you, Smokey!

Hope we can do it again!

Thanks for the info everyone! We'll be doing our first liveaboard to the southern Bahamas next Spring Break. All insight and reviews are greatly appreciated...

I dove the same itinerary last year in November and it's exactly as you described.

Bcaderunr, can you tell me what the water temps were in Nov? We are booked on that trip the week of Nov 27 and a few degrees makes a difference in what I take with me to splash in with. :D

Tammy, my wife and I are doing that date also. We can't wait. Haven't done a liveaboard in a couple of years.

I was there from 11/14-11/21, 2009. Air temps were 85 deg. Just rained one afternoon -- but hard! Water temps on dives varied from 81-85 deg. No particular pattern. All 3 locations (Saba, Statia, St.Kitts) had dives across that range. The afternoon shore excursions are worth considering. St. Kitts (at the end of the week) was our favorite.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on doing some of the shore excursions. Usually I would rather dive but I had already heard some of these might be worth seeing so I'll probably actually go ashore some. Really hoping the water temps stay in the low 80's instead of upper 70's.

Tammy, my wife and I are doing that date also. We can't wait. Haven't done a liveaboard in a couple of years.

Bill, looking forward to meeting you guys on the boat. This will be the first time we have been on a full boat on a liveaboard...should be interesting. Most of our previous liveaboard trips have only been about half full.

I, too, knew nothing of the "rubber chicken" until I had it hung on me early in the week on a Bahamas Liveaboard. Figured I was "IT" and happily assumed the obligation of tagging the next "victim". Well, there was one guy (always is) who was big, loud and knew everything about everything -- kind of the playground bully.

I made him my intended target and successfully nailed him on a drift dive the next day. He didn't take it so well and we never saw the chicken again for the rest of the week.
good job!!!!:)
