Does anyone know how long it typically takes for a refund from the trip insurance companies? I'm just looking for an approximate. I used CSA Travel Protection.

We used CSA last year for our fated trip to Playa del Carmen. Hurricane Wilma came through and basically devistated our trip. Fortunately we hadn't left yet and were able to rebook to the Bahamas (our second choice). Even with the rebook we encountered delays which cost us time and money. Fortunately, CSA covered our additional expenses. It took around 8 weeks to get the check back for the additional expenses. We were just glad to have taken out the insurance.

My take...insure your trip. It isn't that much money for peace of mind. And my experience is, when you are booking something this complex (at least it was for us - flights, cars, lodging, diving, etc.) it will always pay!
