Trip and equipment insurance recommendations

Folks,

I am planning a few dive trips this year and looking for good reputable trip and equipment insurance so that in the unfortunate event, I have to cancel my trip then I can obtain a refund of travel costs and if my scuba gear is damaged, lost or stolen, that it is covered as well. I enrolled in DAN for the medical part but looking for a good insurance plan for the travel and gear part as I am not crazy about the provider that DAN has for these areas.

Your other choice is Diveassure for trip. The plans they carry are much more expensive than DAN, they use DEPP as their equipment insurer. DEPP has issues with v e r y s l o w responses. I sent them an e-mail three weeks ago and still haven't heard back from them. The plan I have with them expires 22 Feb and I am not renewing. I switched to the DAN plan for everything

I generally don't purchase travel insurance when going to places like the Caribbean but would consider doing so if I were going on a really high dollar trips to the other side of the world.
