Used Equipment. You can save a lot by buying Wetsuits, BCDs, fins, etc. used. Regulators are more problematic; make sure they have been serviced within the last year. Every year hundreds of High School / College graduates get complete scuba sets as presents. Many of them dive a few times and quit, then sell the equipment in the reader or Craig's list. Be careful about buying used aluminum tanks also, the dive shops seem to be blacklisting more of these every year.

Remember, after your first dive with it, all of your equipment is used.
