Here are a couple of pictures of treasures found over the weekend in Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park. Kind of odd to find a jug made in Portland, ME in the Portland, CT quarry.

Weather was nice, vis was great. The topside is cleaning up nicely.

Oooh, I am green with envy !!!

Very nice. Is either one worth anything as a collectable?

Stoneware jug might be worth something; the Ball jar is missing the glass top & wire latching. It'll make a good pencil holder though.
We used to find a lot of jugs that originally had rennet in them, but then cheese factories in WI were almost as numerous as breweries. :D

Now that I have a digital camera (and even know how to use it !!!) I should post
some pics of some bottles I found in a mudhole in central Mass known as Brooks Pond.

Someone with knowledge of bottles and such might be able to comment on their possible value. Or not.

A Swasey oyster jug identical to the one I found sold on ebay recently for $61.00. The fruit jar is a common jar but interesting anyway. I like the idea of using it as a pen/pencil holder.

Just awsome. Does anyone know if they were able to find the owner of that wallet also found.

Looks like this weekend will be miserable if it turns out for the better I'll see about getting a start on diving at the quarry this weekend.
