Blue heron bridge, pepper park. I think there's somewhere Vero. There's an active scuba club in veto, search facebook for Vero scuba club. They send event invites out to dive the treasure coast frequently. Ive yet to attend any. I've only dove the bhb site from shore but my understanding is the other sites suffer more often with low vis. Bhb is divable even with low vis, just not as fun.

Are you new to the area?

I've been in the area for 8 years. I'm new to diving. (Only 4 months certified) I've done BHB, just a hike down there but totally worth it in my opinion! Just wondering if there was somewhere closer I could try. Thanks for your input!

Tuesday is a bhb night dive, have you done that yet? Call force e to sign up, its free.

Where in the treasure coast are you?

Btw pikes lake is cool but I think a boat is recommended. Went lobster diving there . Unfortunately vis was crap.

I might be down for the night dive. I've never done a night dive before. I'll let you know Monday morning. Im suppose to get back into town on Tuesday afternoon. How far in advance do I need to sign up?

The Vero Scuba Club face book page is reporting outstanding vis on the Treasure Coast today. 20-30 feet just off shore. Shore diving start just south of Sebastian Inlet down to Pepper Park. But it is very wind dependent, if there is an on shore flow blowing warm surface water, vis is going to suck.

Almost every beach access has some form of reef or another- Some locations have better structure then others. For example, Bathtub Reef in Stuart has some of the biggest ledges in Martin County. Walton Rocks up by the power plant is sweet also. Vis is heavily dependent on wind/wave action- even the slightest swell will ruin vis quick.

Swing by the shop and Ill point you in the right direction.

Not much, just call and get your name on the list. You should have two flashlights, a tank light, and a flag light. The flag light is the only one you wouldn't need if you aren't kiting a flag. Tank lights can be had for cheap at Force E, they have a blinker light that auto turns on as soon as it hits water.

I'll be calling Monday to sign up.

How far to you have to go at Bathtub? I heard it was fairly shallow. Does tide matter?

As with BHB, most shore diving locals are influenced by tides. High tide is especially preferred for bathtub because the first reef will be exposed in some places and only 6" deep in other places. Deeper water on high tide makes crossing the reef easier and safer (urchins everywhere).

Waveland beach just north of Jensen public has great reef structure too. All vis reports are great from the past two days.

have fun!
