Can anyone recommend a good travel insurance company to cover a dive trip? Does anyone know of a company that does camera gear insurance too?
Thanks

Are you looking for trip insurance to cover cancellations and stuff? Or to cover medical needs like DCS?

DAN will cover you on the medical and equipment side. Good prices too. DEPP also offers camera coverage if you insure 1 set of dive gear as well. That's who I have since DAN equipment insurance doesn't cover us in Alaska.

If you're looking for trip insurance in the event that you have to cancel or run into problems--then I recommend CSA Travel Protection. I've been using them for a few years now. http://www.csatravelprotection.com/

Another member had recommended this site a while back:
http://www.travelinsured.com/Default.aspx

It looks like it offers some good prices as well. I will probably check them out next year.

A good site to compare the various insurers side-by-side is www.insuremytrip.com. I generally recommend TravelGuard, CSA, and AccessAmerica, though others are also good. Be sure to insure for your needs (pre-existing, coverage your primary insurer doesn't cover, bankruptcy protection issues, etc.).

Good point. One of the reason I go with CSA is because they cover Terrorist acts. Many I have come across do not. Same thing goes for carrier bankruptcy. Make sure you read the policy before signing up for anything.

DAN for my bod.....DEPP for my gear.

I paid 140 Aus for Dan One Year Primary Insurance. I paid extra 10 Aus for express delivery but got it processed in 1 month. Any way they activated my account and emailed me the number in 3 days time. I have been doing two consecutive 28m 20 min dives on MV Khram at Pattaya, Thailand with one min SI and felt safe because of my DAN Insurance.
