I want another 2 Seaquest Explorer BCD's. I do a lot of Dive Travel (its tough work but somebody has to do it!) and about 18 years ago I purchased a Seaquest Explorer BCD. It has been the best bit of gear I have ever owned and many divers have eyed it with envy for it's simplicity. It is compact, no straps or bayonet clips to twist, no useless heavy stainless steel D rings all over the place - just a simple waistcoast-type vest that has a velcro overlap closure. Its done over 600 dives and still looks new-ish. Problem is, my better half likes it too, and she gets to wear it more often than I. So I need another, and another for the newly qualified teenage daughter.

Its easy to don and doff, and has a soft comfortable backpack. It's only drawback is its low lift capacity - a mere 24 lbs. but that is ample for tropical diving. Problem is, Seaquest don't make anything like it anymore - nor does anyone else it seems. What are often marketed as "Travel" BCDs (e.g. the Seaquest Passport) don't really suit travellers at all. They've all fallen into the "more complex is better" approach with 16 D-rings; integrated weights; 46 lb lift capacities; let's see how many clips and straps we can squeeze into the design....type approach. (What do people put on all those D-rings?)

So, if anyone knows we I can get a Small and a Medium Seaquest Explorer BCD then let me know.

Thanks!
