Thanks everyone, I am going to do some more research and also see if I can pool dive one or two. I understand the reasoning behind renting a weight belt at location instead of the weight integration style. I think that it would further reduce the size of the BCD, great point.

This is new and seems to be designed for your use-case: DiveRite TravelPac Harness
Checkout the Diverite site under: products/catalog/backplates/t4000

Only 6lbs. I have the Transpac with a travel wing and I like it; this seems to be the "travel-version" of my kit.

Cheers!

I really appreciate all the advice about the BCD's. Being pretty new to diving I am still searching out my own path and I really am glad that I have found this outlet for my questions.

My 18 pound lift Oxy Mach V with Oxy Ultralight fabric plate, two DR 8 pound weight pockets, two small XS camband pockets for trim, one UK Led Mini light, small stainless knife, line cutter, shoulder pads and two metal DR cambands and all metal hardware etc weighs 9 pounds ready to go.

Oxycheq 19lb Mach V Wing.
Lighweight Ali Backplate, with minimalist webbing (remove surplus/uneeded D-rings).

Packs flat, performs excellently, weighs very little. You can add more components if you require.

The all new from this year Zuma BCD from Aqualung is very lightweight and packable, with integrated weight pocket.

What Kurtguy said, thanks all!

I'm looking for a good, packable BC. I love my seaquest, which fits great with my drysuit... but on warm water trips it's just too big even cinched to the max.

I'll be sure to check out your suggestions!

Im in the same boat as you and I went with the Zeagle Express tech. cant beat the price too!
