The Lotus looks very similar to the Zuma (which I have). I find that I will turn upright (head up in the water) if I am over-weighted and not finning. I don't wear a wetsuit. Did you experience something similar to this?

My main issue was air would collect in one side of the wing, so I maintained head to toe trim well but struggled with left to right trim.

I’m not sure how to calculate how much lift I should aim for. I’m 5’6”, 125lbs, I run cold so will likely do a lot of my diving in a 5mm. As far tanks, I don’t have my own so dive with whatever the dive shop has. I do like to be slightly overweighted right now but hope to trim this down as I get get more comfortable. I believe I dived with about 18-20lbs inRoatan.

You may want to try to dive with less weight. Try 16 pounds, then 14. I was diving with 16 pounds, until the dm told me I might be overweighted. When I dropped two pounds, my trim was fine. I just needed to angle my body during descent to get all the air out of my bladder.

I always say you need what you need, but 18-20 does sound like a lot for a person that sounds like they don’t have much bioprene. The thing with being overweighted is you will need that much more air in the BC to compensate for it, and that extra air stuck on one side will be that much more of a nuisance.
