A diver recorded themselves diving in a sea of trash at Manta Point. You can even see a manta in the video. No idea it was this bad. Just off the scale.

 
For those of us that are not familliar, where is Manta Point?

I think that’s in Nusa Penida, Bali?

I’ve been there many times for the last 10 years, but have never seen that bad.

The recycling of trash is an interesting point as apparently the US, at least, ships a lot of recycling to China. China is now tightening their requirements for accepting that recycling material. For example, paper that is not contaminated with food waste. There was a local news story here in the SF Bay area essentially that the local recycling centers are needing to improve the quality of recycling we send out or China won't take it anymore.
 
That diver is pretty stupid diving in rubbish without protection.
