Last week someone left a half full stage bottle in the cave. Knowing that no one would ever leave valuables unattended by accident, I grabbed it figuring they didn't want it anymore.

OMG! You removed life support equipment! :shocked2:

really? i usually pick it up & carefully tote it forever until i get out then put it in my fin & forget it's there until i dump the water out, thereby spilling plastic wrap & glass over a wide area of picnic table & sand.

or date it, if it's human. either way...

the trash usually leaves in the fall months, too cold to hang around in the springs...

Dive safe,

Celia

How do you define "trash" and determine what should or shouldn't be removed from a cave system?

Hey dude! I'm diving here...why are you pulling me out of the cave?

You know, I actually don't mind "Glory Markers" in lesser known areas. If I'm there, I can ask people who's names I see about things if needed, or for a map. I've found people share a whole lot more if you prove you've tried to find info for yourself! :)

That being said...when there's about 20 arrows at EOL Cow Springs (at best a single stage dive), that's retarded.

I do pretty much the same as marci - if I see glass, plastic or other obvious man made trash in a cave I stop, pick it up and cart it out. Sometimes I even remember to take it out of my dry suit pocket. More testimony to the durability of a Fusion.
