Well...that is a very relative question. It actually depends on what you wish to do. The "tec types" will tell you it is a tec wanna be bcd and it sucks. It has quick releases and adjustable straps and all that is baddddddd.

Quality wise it is a fine bcd. A few comments have been made about its lack than stellar ability to dive doubles well. But, if youre not a doubles diver...duh.

I decided on a hybrid type rig for my second bcd. I went with the DR stainless steel back place and the TP II harness system. Since I will never be hanging several bottles off the bcd, I highly doubt that I will encounter any more of a chance for a failure with the quick releases than when I used my SQ PRO QD. Being an oldie type, I like the adjustable straps. If it isnt for you ....then go with the webbing.

But is it a good bcd? Yep, just make sure it fits what you want to do. Since you post no clue as to where you are.....go to DiveRite's web site and clik on their listing of TecRec dealers. One in the north east USA.... www.northeastscubasupply.com has a good deal on the transplate. You can get a whole system ready to dive for $449. Determine your need for regular size....larger....really large weight pockets. You get a choice with the system.

If you have any questions drop a pm anytime...

DR TPII. Outstanding rig. Love mine. Works great with stages if you do that sort of thing. Transplate is also a good choice but not if you want DIR.......which I am not. You'll love it.
