After a few years diving now it is time for a major equipment change. I am seriously considering a Transpac XT. I want to be able to dive either single tank back mounted or two tanks side mounted. Can the Transpac be used with side mount tanks? I guess the brief answer is yes because the rings are there, what I need to know is do I need some sort of adapter plate to stop the wing folding over when using side mount?

Anyone with experience using side mount on a transpac rig?

I dive the transpac with nomad xt wing for singles and side mount. (mostly side mount) The wing for side mound is placed between the transpac harness and diver. it stays in place and does not fold up when diving side mount.

I am very happy with it.

Do you use screws to keep the wing attached to the harness? Now I use my transpac mostly with singles but I want to try sidemount. So basically you place the wing between the padding and the harness? Can you post photos?
Thanks

No screws the shoulder straps hold the top and the waist strap holds the wing. I just thread the tank straps through the slots on the back of the harness for singles. I also moved the inflate to the bottom and installed a pull dump on the shoulder. I like it that way it cleans up the shoulder area.
