I have just come across a good deal on a slightly used Transpac2 without a wing, but before I go out and pick up a DR wing ,I was wondering if anyone has used an Oxycheq wing on thier T-2? Is this a silly idea ? I have dove the Oxycheq single tank backplate setup and really like it. When I do get into a set of doubles I think a BP/W setup is the way to go,but for right now im going to keep diving with my single E7-100 and drysuit. Or would I be better off going with a DR trek or rec wing that I could possibly use for both single or double tanks. Let me know your Thoughts...

Let me also say that I am having a really bad urge to just EBAY all or (most) of my existing gear and start over...

That's exactly what I did! I sold my 2 OMS wings, IQ pack, and SS backplate on Ebay. All of my gear was in excellent condition and I got top dollar for all of it. ( sold each piece individually ) Anyway, used the money to buy my FredT SS backplate, Halcyon harness, and Eclipse wing.

I thought I heard the guy at my LDS say that DR TPII and Oxycheq wings bolt holes won't match up together???

Anyone know of this?

Well, I dont know about the Transpac, but the Oxycheq wings use a standard 11" spacing...

Does the Transpac have 11" spacing???

If so, you are good to go...

The latest production of 30# and 45# lift wings will fit the cam bands of the DiveRite Transpac II.

In addition, the bolt holes also line up for use with stablizer plates and doubles.

Hope this helps,

Well I have to go out to the LDS on Wed.. I'll check with him and see what he was talking about.

In a local dive shop I lined up an Oxycheq 45# single tank wing with a dive rite backplate and the slots did not match. The wing that I saw there also did not match the Transpac II.

See Chris' comment. The *latest* production run of wings has new slots that do line up with Transpacs - they were specifically modified. You would have been looking at one of the first production run wings. Otherwise, the wings are identical, and it's a moot point for anyone using the wings with an STA on a backplate, as the wing slots are not used.

OxyCheq's new backplates coming out this month also have cam strap slots for people wishing to use them.

Chris, the holes line up for doubles? But I thought the 30 and 45lb wing was for singles only ?

Thanks for the fast responses guys...
