I recently got some gear from a buddy who stopped diving. I know very little about the transmitters for AI computers. I got two boxes that are labeled TUSA and they both have the transmitters in them and they are hooked up to short - 6-inch hp hoses. I am sure the batteries are dead and I have no computer to test them.

Are they compatible with a lot of the modern computers? Is it reasonable to assume they work? My buddy would have thrown them out if they were not working, I am sure.

Any ideas what they are worth?

Got a few other items too.

thanks.

I don’t know for sure but if they are MH8A type if so they will easily sell for $125 to $170.

Post some pictures, I can’t recall if TUSA ever had a wireless AI computer

Yes, TUSA made an AI computer (IQ-950) that used the MH8A transmitter, and they sold the transmitters too.

Testing the transmitter requires putting it on a reg and putting the reg on a tank and pressurizing it (the only way to turn the transmitter on) and some kind of device (preferably an AI computer from TUSA, Sherwood, Oceanic, Aeries, AquaLung, Hollis, or Shearwater) to try and receive the signal. And a new battery in the transmitter, of course. if the transmitter is opened up and the battery has not corroded and it looks clean inside, chances a good that it is working.
