So, What do folks out there have in mind for training in 2008? Nitrox? Rescue? DM? Maybe that photography specialty? Or, are you a happy little clam with your OW cert?

Personally, I'm already booked to take the TDI basic and advanced blending classes. I may venture out and get involved with more of the tech side of the sport.

Well I'm planning on finishing up my DM cert that started last summer, in addition to doing NAUI Intro to Tech and Tech 1 through the summer.

Well if all goes according to plan I should be earning my instructor tickets for Extended Range, Practical Rescue Management and maybe some others. Lets see what the year brings.
This year is more about consolidating existing instructor skills than earning new badges.
I have been asked to go for the Advanced Instructor Ticket but due to diving commitments this will be for 2009, if I go for this.

I'm looking at the Adv Nitrox & Deco Procedures as well. Since the summer months will be busy teaching as well as running the shop, I'll probably hold the entry to trimix until next year.

I trying to schedule a 1 week "course vacation" in Cozumel (yucatech) to get all three done as a series.

Or take the Naui Tech 1, it's advanced Nitrox, Deco Procedures, and Heliotrox rolled into 1.

Wow, everyone has such advanced plans...

As a new diver I'm going for my Underwater Digital Photography, Fish ID, and Night Diver (doing night to get the wife more comfortable with night diving), after that we will do rescue and then I might move on to DM, just depends on scheduling and how the year goes. :)

Last week, we started our NAUI DM course, which is the last step before eventually working on Instructor. (In NAUI, DM is a higher rank than Assistant Instructor.)

I'm not planning on an Instructor course starting up this year. If it did, I would likely have to pass, as I do not consider it wise to try to go too fast. By next year, I should find myself in a position more reasonable for continuing along that path, assuming I put significant effort into this year.

I am finishing up my DiveCom course right now and will have it done by the end of Feb. Then my next plan is to take a Solo Course from SDI/TDI. Since I have been work on my DiveCon for some time I think after the Solo I am going to just spend most of the summer just diving for fun.

In the future I want to get adv. Nitrox and extended range so I might start working on then later this year more might put it off until next year. By waiting I can have a good summer of spearfishing.
