I just found a new product that is like a sticker. I have been swimming with them on and they were just fine. A week later no change. The name is Duracolour nail strips by Nailene. Got mine at WalGreens.

Nice colors and designs too.

HolaPulpito:
Get pink and white acrylic nails. It looks like a french manicure but they make the tips white with the acrylic instead of the paint so they don't chip. My boyfriend always teases me about being the only girl who dives with a french manicure but it holds out! Just make sure and keep them a reasonable length, nothing is more frustrating than talon-like nails that keep you from doing anything!

Agree- This is the easiest, most maintenance-free solution to having nice nails while on a dive trip.

I say screw the fingers and get a professional pedicure on the toes. Mine always last at least a month, even with diving.

I found some bright green nail polish someplace. My thought was to paint some of it on my scuba pro black split fins to differentiate them from everyone else's. It didn't hold up over two dives.

But MAYBE if I put a base coat and a top coat on? I'll have to try it . . .
:-)

By the time I'm done with a week of diving, I don't have any nails left. I can start the week with a set of beautifully manicure nails, and by Tuesday they're chipped, torn and ragged. And OPI, even with a base and top coat, doesn't seem to do the trick. And who can dive with nails that are claws? Even the press-on kind, they start popping off before I can get my fins on.
Give it up... who needs bright colored nails. If you take the clear polish, they will at look better than being all chipped.
And why is it that the pedicure doesn't get chipped?
