What are the top five wreck's her in Newengland.

also the Pinthius off of Scituate in about 100feet of water. Never dove it, but it's a relatively solid wreck and intacked. Gets raves...ask around I am sure folks on the scubaboard have dove this wreck

Chester Poling, Pinthis, and U-853 are probably the most popular, but there are many other good ones at recreational depths. check out wreckhunter.net

At recreational depths I would say the Chester Poling off Gloucester (approx. 90' max), the Pinthis off Scituate (approx. 100' max), and the U853 off Pt Judith RI (125' max) to list three. I have never done the Pinthis but I have heard a lot of good things about it. I have heard a lot about the Grecian off Block Island as well. There is a WWI sub off the coast of Newport RI in about 110' of water. The site MSilvia mentioned is one of the best for researching dive sites.

There are lot's of wrecks at deeper depths. My favorite NE wreck is the USS-Bass which is about 8 miles off the southeast portion of Block Island (RI) in 160' max. The U853 is a close second in terms of my personal favorite.

I've done the Pinthis, and highly recommend the dive. It had some of the best vis I've seen in these waters, and even though the wreck is upside down, the wreck is still largely intact and very cool.

The Idene off Block Island is also a nice dive, and is upright and an easy swim-through.

If anyone is curious, the name of that sub is the USS L-8.

The Nina T used to be an amazing, amazing dive. From what I hear, it's quickly deteriorating. What a shame.

I recall a newly discovered wreck that Cape Ann Charters (not Cape Ann Divers) has been going to.

Are you thinking of the USS YF-415 that Heather Knowles & Dave Caldwell found? I think it's a little on the deep side.
