Pretty new at UW photography but here are a few that I really like from this fall.

bvanant, did you have those nudis on a mirror? Those are amazing photos!

Max, I LOVE that octopus! There's just such a wonderful sense of motion in the picture. I still think I've seen some of yours that I like even better, though. The problem with trying to pick 3 best of your pictures is that there are so many amazing ones!

I shot the nudibranchs on a stage that I built to pose them on following inspiration from David Doublet's amazing nudis from Indonesia. The one that looks like a mirror is actually a piece of glass used for stained glass sculptures but I like the color and the texture. Phil's octopus photo that won the LAUPS shootout looks way more better shown on a large screen than it does here and that is part of the reason that he won the shootout; it really is a great picture.

First of all, THANK YOU EVERYONE for lots of fantastic photos.

As for my favourites from 2013, its hard to choose, but I have one that is my top pick for sure

This tiny little bugger where hiding on the bouy on a downline from a swimming area marker. 2 other divers had been looking all over the bouy and not seen it :)

Night diving..

Another shot from the same night dive...

This inking little fella where no more than 4 inches, and wasn't too cooperative. I got inked once before I got this shop. Damn theire fast when they shoot off in that cloud of ink.. (Fortunately it didnt shoot off very far)

None of these pictures has been edited beyond normal LR "development"

Here's my three. Not my best, but a few of my most memorable.

Lizardfish eye. Just cool.

Its hard to pick just three. top 300 would have been easier

Going back through my 2013 photos, I haven't had a great second half of the year, but early on, I got a few nice ones:

My personal favorite (one of my favorites ever) -- a juvenile market squid about 2" long, darting about in the water column on a night dive

Hi Bob, good thread! OK, I will bite!

Here are my top 3 for 2013:

First is a macro shot of a decorated warbonnet, Browning Pass, BC, Canada (Canon S100 with accessory macro diopter):

2nd is a wide angle shot of white-tip reef sharks at Roca Partida (Canon S100 with accessory wide-angle lens):

3rd is Blue Ring Octo, taken last month at Dauin/Dumaguete, Philippines (Canon EOS M with 60 mm macro lens):
