Tool kit for regulators

Hello,

I recently bought sidemount regs which on occasion I want to use for back-mount single tank for which purpose I will need to reconfigure them a little. My question is what is the optimal starter tool kit I need for this task? I know I will need at least two wrenches and alan key(s). But what sizes? Thanks.

Adjustable wrenches and a kit of hex keys to fit your port plugs is good enough.

However I will say you should probably get dedicated sets for each style of diving as constantly changing them back and forth is more likely to result in a problem over time.

You only need 2 wrenches and 2 Allen keys.
There are a couple of issues though:
Your hose lengths may not be ideal.
You will need another SPG and hose for back mount.
Make sure you have O rings for HP and LP hoses, constantly moving hoses will shorten their life.
Might just be worth finding an inexpensive reg set for back mount.
I keep a set of older MK17 for back mount, use MK25 for sidemount.

I avoid adjustable wrenches whenever possible. Get the correct sized wrench(es) for the job.

I have another set for back-mount but the gf will be using it until she gets her own.

I'm aware that I will need longer SPG and LPI hoses. As for the 2m hose, it will be going around my torso as per the DIR setup. I'm using a BP/W.

Innovative T-2 Scuba Toolpack can work + a pack of o-rings. But I don't really like those foldout tools.

Scubatools used to sell a nice all-in-one spanner and all-in-one allen key set with all the scuba sizes but I don't see it on their website.

I spent years laughing at this Knipex tool, years later I started wanting it, and now I've finally got one in each size and wonder why I waited so long.

When you want to progress past springy Allen keys

for the tougher stuff get a set of these
