I might go in a year or two...but I'm guessing you want to know something now, eh? :D...I did a search and didn't really come up with anything sorry.

What I can say, based on what my friends from Tonga have told me, that the diving there is great and lots of sea life....sorry I can't say more.

Wait! Take a look at the very bottom of this thread, there are 4 threads about Tonga, one might help

I met a rep/instructor at the LB scuba show for Tonga......spent about 15 minutes talking to him. Lots of small and medium fish....being I like Big stuff like Palau/Tahiti or weird creatures like I saw in Timor... Tonga was not for me but the adventure sounds great.....check Undercurrent for trip reports.

I've been trying to find trip reports on Tonga and can't find any. Any suggestions?
My first dive trip was to Tonga (Vavau). Since it was my first, I don't know what to say about it as I was just thrilled to be underwater! I really enjoyed it and really liked the town too (very comfortable).

My fondest memory was hearing humpback whales singing while I was diving. Oh, lots of Christmas Tree worms and I lots of anemones.

Great, thanks for the replies. We are planning a trip for Oct and would like to try and stay in the Pacific area since we would like to go to the Cooks. The Cooks doesn't have the best diving, great vis but low on the big things like sharks and mantas but topside is great and we miss it a lot

Being you will be in the Cook Islands and want to try something else in the Pacific....try Rangiora or Fakarava....strong currents and action packed....Lots of stuff in the waters...great vis.

Pulled some stuff out of my files and read more about it from that web site Mike gave you..... If you do go to Tonga.....would like to see the trip report.....sounds like a great place to visit.

We are still up in the air about Tonga because I've been checking out other places such as PNG. We love liveaboards and I did check out the website so will have to way the cost vs the convience and abundance of a liveaboard or a resort
