Today I almost suffocated, on the land. Underwater I would have died

A clear tasteless fluid is likely mucous or saliva. You might have an esophageal dysfunction, obstruction that did not let the "sticky rice" move down. Stomach juice is usually very harsh and sour.

This fluid could've triggered the spasm. But again, once the ENT clear you, you might want to discuss about the intestinal issue. Someone could order an esophagram - where you swallow food and see how it goes under a fluoroscope, or do un upper GI scope, or get a barium swallow. It can be cheap for the barium swallow, or more invasive like the scope. Depending on your insurance and ability to pay.

Yes I had the feeling that the esophagus (spelling???) is not OK. But might be first the larynx and later the esophagus?

Do you still recommend a esophagram, even if I never had any problems before and now everything is perfect again like always. No problem to swallow anything.

Well I have no insurance at all, but I would have the money.

My idea would be to wait if anything occur again.

Thanks for all the advices/help so far.

I really can't give specific advice over the Internet... But if I see a patient in whom the office endoscopic examination of the larynx is normal, and there are absolutely no further symptoms or any problems with eating, swallowing or breathing, I would rarely get an esophagram.

A barium swallow series should be very inexpensive, and can be done in any physician's office with an x ray machine and access to barium. Most veterinarian can do it, but I am not sure if they are willing to take xray of human in Thailand. It is not as complete as a fluoroscopy video, which shows second by second motility and function of the esophagus. Basically, you would swallow some white liquid, then xray are taken of your chest from two views. I am not sure what the standard procedure is - how many xrays are taken, and what view - but at least it will outline your esophagus, and give an idea what is abnormal.

I guess if you are short changed, a physician might just recommend taking antiacid product like zantac, tagamet, prilosec. If your symptom is caused by reflux, resting the esophagus from acidity might improve its function. But also this might delay the treatment of more serious disorder, like tumor of the thorax or severe stricture of the esophagus. Again, you should seek the advice of a good physician.
