So I've been busy this week but I managed to sort through the photos that I took up at Tobermory the weekend before last. This was my first trip up there and it totally blew me away; the topside scenery on the way up and around the Bruce Peninsula is beautiful and the underwater topography is really interesting. Oh.. and the wrecks are swweeeet!

I can't impress upon you what a great time we had and I think it was greatly influenced by the absolutely amazing new visitor center, which I would highly recommend seeing before you dive as there is an incredible amount of informative, educational and interesting information that enhanced my diving experience no end.

We dove with Ken's Dive Locker and although the weather wasn't great we still managed to cram in some exceptional dives; on the Arabia, the Niagra II, the Caroline Rose, the Scoville, the Sweepstakes, the tugs and the Grotto (cave diving in the Great Lakes! Who knew?!).

There are more of my pictures up on Bruno's website and links to those taken by others: Bruno's Dive Shop - Trip Photos 08.09.08 (Fathom Five Marine Park, Tobermory, Canada)

Like I said, I can't rave about this place enough... Looking forward to our 1000 Islands Trip now!

Cheers

Cooooool Pics!!!

Thanks so much for sharing. Looks like the vis was great even if the weather itself was not perfect.

Rick,
That was a great trip, (and cold water) especially Ed's mask! But that is another story!

Tobermory is definitely my favorite local dive town! I have been up there the past 2 weekends. Anyone who ever has a chance should check it out. It has many historical wrecks, many in great condition. It has many interesting geological dive sites (lighthouse, grotto). The grotto BTW is just as much if not more fun with a mask, snorkel and fins. I spent 2 hours there yesterday, just swimming in and out through both tunnels! Also a great dive site is Niagara II, a 182' ship sunk purposefully as a dive site in pristine condition!
