I am headed to Tobago anyone kmnow of great or horrid dive operatios there I don't know anything about the place...

The best diving IMHO is based at Speyside we Tobago Dive Experience (TDE) based at Manta Lodge. Those currents were ripping but we had lots of great dives.

Here is a link to a trip report I wrote a few years ago after our trip to Trinidad and Tobago. Tobago Trip Report Warning, it's rather long and has a lot of photos, so it may be slow to load. Hopefully it will give you a good overview of the islands and the diving in the Speyside area.

Have a great trip.

We just got back yesterday (sigh...) A wonderful time -- the vis was a bit low but any dive is a great dive in my view. We dove with World of Watersports out of the Hilton and had a great experience. Marvin and Dion took us in as friends, invited us to party with them. But on the boat and in the water, they were all business -- serious about having a great safe diving experience. They took us anywhere we wanted to go and were a pleasure to dive with. Speyside has the best dive sites and so we took a couple of trips up there but I wouldn't have wanted to spend my whole two weeks up there. It is quite remote. If you like a bit of other recreation along with your diving I'd recommend you stay in Arnos Vale (the Arnos Vale Apartments are wonderful!) or Black Rock area. Crown Point is fine too but quite touristy. There are several great dive sites around the south end of the island. Try Diver's Dream out off the south end if you really like a rocking current and seeing some of the bigger stuff. Sharks, turtles and rays. Anyway, I was very happy with World of Watersports and don't hesitate to recommend them.

Another quick after thought Barbjw -- W of W has the only big boat with canopy that I saw. The others are all pretty small -- climb back over the side sort of thing. I note that another reviewer recommends Tobago Dive Experience -- they are now part of W of W.
