Hello,

I have a C4040, a YS-90DX, and a PT 010. I want to start using TTL which isn't available with the Oly housing. I planning to get the Ikelite housing which I believe will own me to use the TTL functions of the C4040 and the YS-90DX.

Two questions:
1. Anyone see any problems with this configuration?
2. Will I be able to use my current Fisheye tray with the Ikelite housing?

1. If you mean hard-wired TTL, i.e. with a sync cord, with the Ike housing then I see a problem, if fact several:
a. I don't think the Ike housing for the C4040 even has a bulkhead to connect a sync cord to, unless ofcourse they've offered to retrofit it for you
b. As of now Ikes offering the TTL circuit for the 5050 and 5060 only, again, unless they retrofit it for you
c. The TTL circuit will only work with Ikes strobes - the DS50 and DS125.

2. Ike's housing usually comes with it's own tray and handle

I think the only device in the market that'll give you TTL with your C4040 and YS-90DX is the TTL adaptor that Mathais makes. It's essentially a circuit board that slips into the hot shoe and communicates with an external controller using infra red. The external controller is connected to the strobe and tells it when to fire and quench according to the communication it receives via IR. In this case you donot need to change your housing - it'll work with the PT-010. The web address is http://www.muenster.de/~matthias/blitz/oly2nikone.htm.
He is in Germany.
