I would like to say i am amazed with how divers are so close even one they have yet to meet each other. You guys are so willing to help each other out with out a blink of an eye. I've only seen this with Cops and other firefighters.

looks like I've picked a great sport to be part of and found a great board that supports the "Brothers and Sisters" of diving.

I hope to dive with many of you.

That is what makes this board so wonderful. I have met and dived with a bunch of folks from here, and have enjoyed meeting every one. My little world of diving has opened up to new possiblilities because of the people here.

I totally agree. I've been meeting divers from various message boards for about 6 years and I haven't met an ax murderer yet! Some of my very best friends are those I met on Diverlink. I may only see them once a year but when we get together, it's like we just dived together last week. True friends. The folks I've met here on Scubaboard are the same way, although most of them are Swampers that I see on a semi-regular basis.

firedogut, I was wondering if you know of a message board like this that is for or about firefighters?

Fortunately, I found a board called HVAC Talk. I read it everyday. It if for people in the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration industry. Although we get homeowners asking questions about thier furnaces etc. I have become good friends with many on that board. As a result we are going to have our first annual HVAC Talk convention down in Pittsburgh in August.

Back to Scuba. Every year I go some place specail for a dive vacation. My wife nor any of my friends dive. So for the last couple of years I went with a group from a dive shop in Albany NY. Like you said everyone was looking out for each other and we had super times.

This year the trip was to Roatan. By the time I called the shop they were all booked up. So I got on this board and found a group down in Houston that is doing the exact same trip but 2 weeks later. Through this board I got hooked up with them and we are going in the first week of April. (how many days Dee.?)
