I'm really struggling with trying to remove backscatter.
I have an action for that. It's kind of hit/miss though. It works really well on close-ups with backscatter, but doesn't work so well on farther shots, especially on items like divers bubbles in the water, it tends to obscure them. There are some adjustments that you can do while the action is running that help, but at the expense of not removing the backscatter completely. Not sure where I picked it up, maybe here somewhere.

PM if you'd like the file. ymmv

I've been using PS since 1996 and I still learn new things all the time. So just stay with it and you'll figure out how to do what you need to.

I'm no guru, just recently upgraded to PS7 but I'm with justleesa and alcina...I just started playing with the buttons to see what they would do. One of the greatest things I found about PS7 is the shadow/highlight tool. And Curves has been a big help.

Make a copy of your picture (so you won't by mistake save over the original) and play with everything you find in every menu. I try to "over-do" whatever tool I'm working with just to see what effect it will have. The worst that could happen is an ugly picture you can delete. I'm still finding new things to play with in PS7. Curves and unsharp mask are my favorite tools -so far.
